About

Hi, I'm Nadine de Jong — the person behind PickMyAITools.

I review AI tools the way I test software: hands-on, skeptical, and focused on what actually works in real conditions. My background is a mix of online marketing (Google Ads, SEO), software development, and QA — currently as a freelance QA specialist for a major retail company.

That combination shapes how I evaluate AI tools. I notice the bugs marketing pages don't mention. I care whether tools handle EU/GDPR properly, because most of my readers are based in Europe. And as a working mother, I care about tools that actually save time — not ones that just look impressive in demos.

What you'll find here

  • Reviews based on hands-on use, not press releases
  • Comparisons that name the trade-offs, not just the features
  • A Task-to-Tool Matcher that recommends tools based on what you actually want to accomplish
  • A focus on tools that are realistic for freelancers, small businesses, and working professionals — not enterprise-only platforms

What you won't find here

  • Generic "top 10" lists rewritten from other sites
  • AI-generated content presented as personal experience
  • Tools recommended just because they pay the highest commission

The site is actively being rebuilt with this approach. If you spot something off, tell me — I'd rather hear it from you than from a reader who just clicks away.

PickMyAITools earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up for tools through links on this site. This never influences whether a tool is recommended, only which ones I bother reviewing in the first place. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
